A Place to Procrastinate

Tired
Ugh. No more partying for me for awhile. It takes wa-a-ay too long for me to recover. I had plenty of sleep last night but I am still exhausted.

I had to hang out with some people I barely knew on Sunday while trying to hold myself together on just 4 hours of sleep, too much indulgence, and too many cigarettes from the previous night. Eesh, I don't think I made a very good impression; I could barely make conversation. I went home feeling bad about my day.

I also drove all over the place this weekend. It took forever to get anywhere. 1 1/2 hours from Venice to Chinatown (Only 30 minutes to get back!), 1 hour from Venice to Huntinton Beach, 1/2 hour from Playa del Rey to Long Beach Airport. Don't forget that I had to drive back from these places (the 4AM drive was tough), and did little in-between drives to pick up friends, get food, etc. I really try to keep my driving down to a minimum, but it is tough here in LA.

Anyways, I'm finally settled in my new home and my friend from SF has returned home so it's time to buckle down!! I am eager to return to my projects and submit my work to galleries and various other opportunities. That entails studio time, photo time, computer time (placing images on my website for galleries to see), and more time writing letters and statements. I actually don't mind not going out every weekend. I've reached a point in my life where that doesn't matter. I realized a long time ago that anyone who excels at something usually spend most of his time doing whatever it is. One is consumed by her passion and almost lives in a bubble. Some people may argue that living like that is not healthy but we just have to remember that moderation is the key. But for me, right now, I need to return to the bubble. It's a nice space to be in. I'll pop out now and then though. ;-)
