Driving Something happens when people get behind the wheel. Manners go out the door. The general public can be rude anyways, but it seems more so when people are placed inside metal boxes on wheels. It's as if we forget that there are human beings inside of those boxes. And when someone pulls an asshole maneuver, they think that by not looking at the other driver that their idiocy didn't happen at all. People act like nothing happened at all and they continue their bumbling fool way down the road. What's more terrible to me is that I also have been guilty of the not-looking-therefore-it-didn't-happen-syndrome. Sometimes it's because I think that I am right and sometimes it's because I am too embarrased to admit my foolishness. I can say that I don't do that all of the time, sometimes I give an apologetic wave combined with with a very sorry shrug of my shoulder.
People on the road, please take note: -Use your blinker. It let's others know what's happening and they can plan ahead accordingly. This also works to your advantage if you want to switch lanes. Some people will actually let you in. -If two lanes are merging together and it has become one, don't race to squeeze me out. What hell? Just so that you can be directly in front of me for the next mile or so? You were in that much of a hurry? -If someone is going to make a left across the intersection in the oncoming lane and someone is making a right where the preson is trying to make a left...the person making the right has the right-of-way. If the intersecting road has at least 2 lanes going one way, then the person making the right should stay in the lane near the corner and the person making the left can turn into a farther lane. No problem. -If I stop to parallel park or go into a driveway but there is another car in that driveway, please don't honk. I use my signal to do these things and if you know what they are for, then you are forewarned and should be ready to slow down. Sorry that I have to stop if someone is in front of me. Oh no, I inconvenienced you, maybe I should run over the little girl running with her dog next time. Maybe I should cut off the bicyclist just so you don't have to slow down.
