I love being with someone. I want to spend the rest of my life partnered with someone. But I find myself relishing my time by myself. I like being among all of my own material things in my own space. It gives me time to dream and be inspired. The late night putter hours. I find myself settling into my spirit and feeling chock full of possibilities.

Then there is that little nagging voice inside my head asking, “What are you doing? You aren’t in your twenties anymore! Get out of the clouds and plant your feet into something solid!”

And then I realize that my ultimate fantastical reality would be that I would live happily ever after with someone in domestic bliss but have my little (but spacious) hideaway place to ponder, play, create and dream. I did have a little room to do that when I lived with John, but it was tiny when all of my stuff was in it. The key thing is to have a large space and quite separate from living quarters.
